Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mencoder

Description:	Ubuntu 9.10
Release:	9.10 amd64

First i was affected by Bug #272488
devede cannot make dvd because of "needed space maybe not sufficient" error
Also here - http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1240686

I checkek up the version, exchanged it with the devede package from the distributors homepage but this did not help. I changed the .devede file tmp line to a really big device to prevent "disk full" problems. Did not help, at 20% with the first file in conversion devede breaks with "space not sufficient".
Then i found this in dmesg, it happens before Devede reports the space problem.

[17155.638541] mencoder[17379]: segfault at 7fa81b7bb840 ip

libswscale.so.0.7.1[7fa822a2f000+33000]

Package: mencoder 2:1.0~rc3+svn2

I think there is a problem in mencoder code, cause i fixed the problem
with installing of

mencoder-mt 1:git20090611

and copying mencoder-mt to mencoder so devede use always the multicore
optimized version. Devede works fine now.

Who can confirm this?

Eric
