Thanks for the pointer on the visual bell, that fixes it! I have to
admit this setting is visually abrasive and I'm not sure it makes a good
default; I (and my co-worker) assumed it was a graphical bug as a few
others did here. Any thoughts on defaulting to no bell at all?

By the way I am on a fresh 9.10 install with terminator 0.13+ds1-2.
Thanks for the great work on terminator overall, it is quite excellent!
