I can confirm in Karmic.  I suspect the problem may be related to the 64
bit version since when I was running 32 bit jaunty (same version as
original posted, but 32 bit), I never experienced the problem.  But now
in Karmic, I am running 64 bit and I notice the problem.  From the crash
file, I noticed that the original posted was running 64 bit Jaunty.
