Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vlc

Hello.

Description: Ubuntu 9.10
Release: 9.10
vlc:
  Installed: 1.0.2-1ubuntu2
  Candidate: 1.0.2-1ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 1.0.2-1ubuntu2 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com karmic/universe Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

I'm trying to play DVD image stored on HDD (VIDEO_TS dir) by VLC.
I have an interlaced DVD image. I'm trying to launch:
vlc --deinterlace-mode=linear VIDEO_TS

Playback starts ok, but with deinterlace switched off. VLC ignores --deinterlace-mode option.
Also I've tried to set Deinterlace Mode in Video settings. VLC remembers the setting, but still ignores it.
I need to switch deinterlace mode manually every time I start VLC.

Best regards, Vladimir Podobaev
