Same case and same segfault here with a 686 machine (32bit) upgraded from jaunty to karmik. No web page using mod-xslt is displayable.
We can see these lines in apache error log :
[Tue Nov 03 16:47:36 2009] [notice] child pid 14488 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
