Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ttf-jsmath

When I installed the jsmath fonts via this package, I noticed that some characters are displayed incorrectly. For example, \pi generates Ù (an accented U) rather than a pi symbol. When I uninstalled this package and installed the fonts manually from http://www.math.union.edu/~dpvc/jsMath/download/jsMath-fonts.html the pi symbol is displayed correctly. I notice that the files in ttf-jsmath_0.01.orig.tar.gz differ from the files in TeX-fonts-linux.tgz which I downloaded from the above URL and manually installed:
$ diff ttf-jsmath/ttf-jsmath-0.01.orig/ installers/TeX-fonts-linux/
Binary files ttf-jsmath/ttf-jsmath-0.01.orig/jsMath-cmbx10.ttf and installers/TeX-fonts-linux/jsMath-cmbx10.ttf differ
