Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub2

Edited Grub-pc in attempt to resolve (no floppy issue under karmic).
grub has turned off floppy fd0 on both karmic and second drive for
windows xp. Unable now to do backups, read or write discs, or carry out
system maintenance. The no floppy issue is a joke...
