[Bug 382062] [NEW] graphics driver crashes, renders machine unresponsive to input

Public bug reported:

During work, X just "locks up": No mouse movement, no keyboard input.
Cannot switch consoles, cannot use magic-sysrq-key.

I was not able to use "ubuntu-bug", since - when run via the network -
it wouldn't work! It kept collecting information and would never return
(xkbcomp would never exit)!

During that time I was able to login via network and found:
