[Bug 380250] [NEW] Can't install drupal5 or drupal6 or mysql-server 5.0

Binary package hint: drupal5

I had installed mysql5.1 server and client and associated items
successfully. phpmyadmin worked, for example.

I needed drupal and tried to install drupal6. This tried to downgrade
mysql server to 5.0. This failed. I then tried to uninstall drupal6 and
install drupal5. This kept hitting a problem with the mysql server.

I have tried a complete uninstall of all of these items and a clean
install of drupal5.15-1ubuntu1. This looked good initially as mysql had
eventually uninstalled (uninstalled completely all mysql client and
server).

I now get the error message: E: /var/cache/apt/archives/mysql-
server-5.0_5.1.30really5.0.75-0ubuntu10_i386.deb: subprocess pre-
installation script returned error exit status 1. Before this is a
statement that the downgrade from 5.1 to 5.1 is being aborted. I guess
this is the heart of the problem. How do I get back to a clean state?

That has been consistent through all of this.
