Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-commander

Whenever I want to establish an ftp-connection, gnome-commander breaks
down. If I start gnome-commander in a shell, following error message
appears (different versions):

  (gnome-commander:8693): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_entry_set_text: assertion `text != NULL' failed
  gnome-commander: Fatal IO error 0 (Success) on X server :0.0.
OR:
  The program 'gnome-commander' received an X Window System error.
  This probably reflects a bug in the program.
  The error was 'RenderBadPicture (invalid Picture parameter)'.
    (Details: serial 7740 error_code 160 request_code 149 minor_code 8)
    (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
     that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
     To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
     option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
     backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
OR:
  The program 'gnome-commander' received an X Window System error.
  This probably reflects a bug in the program.
  The error was 'BadIDChoice (invalid resource ID chosen for this connection)'.
    (Details: serial 8045 error_code 14 request_code 53 minor_code 0)

OR:

  Aborted

OR just:
  gnome-commander: Fatal IO error 0 (Success) on X server :0.0.

ftp-connections with Nautilus do not work either. If I use the ftp-shell-command everything works perfect.
>From my point of view, the main problem lies not in gnome-commander, but there it is very easy to reproduce.
Maybe this error is somehow combined to 264989 but the versions seems to differ (mine appears is 9.04, with 8.0* if have never experienced such a problem.)

Thanks in advance.
