Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

I will attached a screenshot of the whole desktop so it is more clear, but here are the anomalies:
  * on the secondary screen, the desktop (the background) is not properly refresh, if I move a window against its background, I can see the "trail" of the window and the display is always corrupted there. However, application are refreshed properly, I can display an application in full screen on the secondary monitor without any glitches, only the desktop background is messed up.
  * the secondary monitor has 1080 px high whereas my laptop monitor has 1050 px, however when both screens are connected, my laptop monitor has 1080 px high but displays only 1050 px out. Which is weird. You can see that on the screenshot, above the Gnome top applet bar there is 30 px of empty space where I can "loose" my mouse...
  * the wallpaper is never display properly in any of the possible options: zoom, scaled, tiled, etc. it seems that the Gnome desktop gets it all wrong... In the screenshot the wallpaper is "zoom"-ed which is the "better" looking (albeit still ugly) version...

Note: I have an Intel GMA X4500HD (G45 chipset) graphic card (Lenovo T500) with UXA and normal desktop effects (compiz) activated.
Another note: I had not this behaviour with previous Ubuntu release including during Jaunty alpha and beta development. However, I do not think I had UXA activated (not quite sure).
Last note: if it is UXA, for the rest it is working fine, no other display bugs.
