what else did you install at the same time can you please list all the lightning/sunbird packages are also installed?
Can you please test this with new profile?
Do you have google-provider installed? i cant recall exact name of it.
Was this a fresh install or an upgrade for lightning and for Ubuntu.
What version of thunderbird are you using?
What version of lighting are you using?

I am unable to reproduce this bug here, i just installed lightning and
it works great.

 can you please give us a link to the calendar you are trying to add?
Are you trying to add a ical or what?
