Here's a bit more.
1) When I try from the command line
/etc/init.d/unbound start
I get an [ok], but in fact unbound does not start.
However,
unbound -d -v
shows[1242606679] unbound[32102:0] notice: Start of unbound 1.0.0.
and the unbound process is running as user unbound. Also in the second
case I get logging in syslog, but none in the first case. Increasing the
verbosity in /etc/default/unbound, and/or adding invalid lines in
/etc/unbound/unbound.conf also do not result anything logged in syslog,
so I wonder if the init script is even trying to start unbound.
