Paul

Once again thanks so much for your time on this.

One point of clarification. I do understand that neither Debian nor Ubuntu
are responsible for fixing problems within the FPC projects.
But this dependency problem lies outside that project's scope. Since Debian
and Ubuntu should align in their library bases, its surprising to me
that with a stable project like FPC; which installs under Debian and Ubuntu
(Sourceforge and repo versions), that a library issue like this arises.

I will send you links to the messages I found in the FPC user groups, I do
not see any Launchpad bug reports on this and that's probably because
the people who encountered this bug gave up and stayed on Debian. I am
committed to Ubuntu.. proud of it and not shy about it.

So in that respect, since the Debian person only maintains FPC and Lazarus
for that distro as a OSD committed to Ubuntu I have to accept the following
responsibility.

1) set up a nightly check build of the FPC and Lazarus packages under Ubuntu
Hardy and Jaunty as the project changes

2) work with the FPC project leaders to make sure that any specific issues
are documented and resolved on that end

3) to surface and report with details issues that lie specifically with
Ubuntu to you.
