I also have this problem.
I just upgraded from hardy up to jaunty (network upgrade to intrepid then jaunty). Hardy never had this problem, but now I have it on jaunty.

The problem exists with both versions of adblock plus (repos and 1.1
from firefox's website).

The problem is resolved if you disable adblock-plus and restart firefox
