[Bug 376533] [NEW] nxtvepg trys to read from wrong device

Public bug reported:

Since updating to jaunty nxtvepg 2.7.6-2ubuntu1 tries to extract epg
data from:

/dev/v4l/vbi0

and fails as there is no such device/file available. Correct devices
seem to be:

/dev/vbi0
/dev/video0

TVtime is working fine - hardware failure can be exluded. I have a
SAA7144 from ASUS.

i hope that this is not a configuration issue. As far as i am aware i
didn't change any settings in this area, but initial installation was
ubuntu 5 and since then the installation was only upgraded. Couldn't
find any other documented case in forums or documentation on nxtvepg
homepage regarding a setting that would be required here. Only a
statement that these kind of settings are for linux part of the
OS/driver. Posts to german ubuntu forum did not lead to a solution so
far.

Original error message:
-Failed to start acquisition: access error (/dev/v4l/vbi0):No such file or directory

Temporary fix with symbolic link from /dev/v4l/vbi0 to /dev/vbi0:
- Acquisition: no reception (forced passive) --> fix doesn't seem to work
- though no processes (tv application or deamons) are running potentially accessing the file, access via link is locked, furthermore symbolic link is deleted after reboot, but some under conditions i did not understand acquisition worked for a short time with this workaround with a symbolic link.

Thanks in advance

kemrit
