@Brad, in the next version of Ubuntu we're likely going to have UXA
enabled by default so then your resolutions will be detected by default
with no changes required in xorg.conf. At the time when we decided which
intel driver to ship in jaunty the UXA mode was not yet stabilized for
all chipsets so we didn't want to turn it on for all users. If you run
into crashes or freeze problems using UXA you can upgrade the default
2.6.3 driver that jaunty has to the 2.7.1 version of that (which is a
bit more stable). The 2.7.1 version is available in the X-Updates PPA
here: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates/
