[Bug 374902] [NEW] blender screen no longer functional. slow reactions, unusable

Public bug reported:

the 3d window and all other windows in blender has now, after the
installation of  Ubuntu 9.04, is no longer functional. it reacts very
slow and leaves "prints" of the figures you are building and such. some
of the menus doesn't even show.
