[Bug 374569] [NEW] Sound converter takes minutes to launch

Binary package hint: soundconverter

In Jaunty: Sound Converter will launch only after two or three minutes after clicking its menu entry.
The Sound Converter window opens, but remains blank for a couple of minutes (process is do-poll). In this state, it interferes with Nautilus: attempting to open folders result in blank and unresponsive Nautilus windows. Also interferes with gnome-system-monitor: when I try to launch it, its window remains blank and unresponsive.
