Public bug reported:

Please sync vips (7.18.1-1) from Debian unstable, all Ubuntu changes are
merged on Debian.

It build fine with a karmic pbuilder.

vips (7.18.1-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release
  * Updated standards to 3.8.1.  No changes required.
