I am testing v3.0.4 on Jaunty server and can not reproduce this problem,
the GUI just starts as usual.

I do not like it that you have both libfwbuilder7 and libfwbuilder8 on
the machine, could you ensure versions of libfwbuilder and fwbuilder are
coordinated?

Recently I had report of a problem that vaguely seems similar. Please
deinstall libfwbuilder7 and try to run the program under strace and post
the last portion of the output when it hangs.

I do not think any changes made between 3.0.2 and 3.0.4 could have
caused this  problem, so lets try this with 3.0.2 first. It would be
helpful though if you could try both 3.0.2 and 3.0.4 if it is not too
much trouble.

Command is

strace fwbuilder

Jaunty, you can download them here:
