Hi,

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad SL-300 and am having nearly identical symptoms.
My laptop has a 1440x900 resolution display but Gnome only detects a
1280x800 display. I still cannot get 1440x900 to display in Ubuntu.

I will upload these files since it appears to be the same issue.
