Public bug reported:

I am new with Linux and I can not install anything exept Aplications / add remove aplications and System / Administrator /
Synaptic package manager. I maybe remove all old Java and then try to install most new Java Sun and fail every time
what ever I try. I have use a lot all Windows like 95 to Vista and some Macs like 8.5 - X So I know something like
Registry and registry editing and I can run Dos programs.
I try to read instractions from Web but everything is so difficult.
Some of my frends say just go somewhere in packages where is Restricted something and that would solve all my problems. Try that and did not help.
I like to use Linux because I don't have to read so much about all those little sofware and updates that can I use them. Or have to test 5 to 10 software to find a one usefull to me. I have this single one problem with Java Sun 6 and still I can
use Internet and I have this one problem when I want to use online pank account to Identifications.

I Install from CD Ubuntu 8.10 Finnish and my hardware is IBM T23.
