While Compiz, technically speaking, normally is configured with a single
workspace with a viewport the underlying libraries (libwnck) normally
have no issues more or less transparently dealing with this
configuration.

At this point my best guess is that Compiz may have been configured with
multiple Desktops.  If you have reconfigured Compiz in any way check to
make sure "Number of Desktops" is 1.   "Horizontal Virtual Size" and
"Vertical Virtual Size" can be greater than 1 without issue.

Is anyone else using Jaunty able to duplicate this behaviour?
