Eddie,

Thanks for responding.

After booting the live CD and reverting the Xorg intel driver, I can't
get X to come back up.

I try the "exit" and "logout" commands, and it just keeps coming back to a prompt that says:
ubuntu at ubuntu:~$

No matter how long I wait, I don't get any autologin.

If I try the "startx" command, it says:
"Server is already active for display 0". 

And goes back to a command prompt.

In short, I can't seem to get X to start back up once the driver has
been reverted.
