This sounds like the problem I've been having since upgrading from
Intrepid 8.10 to Jaunty 9.04 on a Lenovo X301 (2776) laptop.

uname -a
Linux shim 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:58:03 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux

lspci -nn | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:2a42] (rev 07)

In the 24 hours since upgrading it has locked up the screen display,
mouse pointer, and keyboard. /var/log/kern.log shows a kernel 'Oops' and
a i915 dump (attached).
