Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: python-visual
To reproduce this bug follow these steps:
$ python
>>> from visual import *
>>> sphere()
The error that will initially spit out is:
Gtk-WARNING **: Failed to load module "libcanberra-gtk-module.so": libcanberra-gtk-module.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
<visual.primitives.sphere object at 0xb7e05c84>
if you try to ctrl-d or ctrl-c out of it you will recieve errors. On top
of that if your using gnome-terminal and you ctrl-c out of the
interpreter the terminal will become unusable. The bug makes it so that
the screen that pops out paints in weird ways and can't be moved without
leaving a "ghost" screen in its initial place. In addition it always
paints as the top window.
There is no libcanberra-gtk-module.so in /usr/lib but curiously there is
a copy in /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/modules. I tried to create a symbolic link to
that module and I didn't recieve any warning, instead I recieved a
segmentation fault.
