Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gajim

Due to another bug
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gajim/+bug/349661), my gajim
configuration was lost. The default configuration recreated by gajim
set spell checking language to simply "en", while the environment LANG
variable is properly set on my system to en_US.UTF-8. This results in
several US English words being marked as incorrectly spelled, as it
appears to default to the British spelling. I can find no means through
the normal UI (outside the advanced configuration) to set this as it
needs to be, "en_US". The language selection dialog for each contact
does not list anything other than "en". Additionally, once it is
properly set to "en_US" through the advanced configuration, checking
each contact shows no language selected for them.

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: amd64
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ath_hal
Package: gajim 0.12.1-0ubuntu2 [modified: usr/share/gajim/src/common/optparser.py]
ProcEnviron:
 PATH=(custom, user)
 LANG=en_US.UTF-8
 SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: gajim
Uname: Linux 2.6.28-11-generic x86_64

** Affects: gajim (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
