What version is sunbird to find out run the following command and post full output to this bug report.
apt-cache policy sunbird thunderbird
Yes that the exact command i need. 
This isnt thunderbird as long as its lightning you are adding it to and not thunderbird. can you please try renaming the profile and restart lighting/thunderbird. and try adding it again and see if it is correct.
