indeed I am using an existing backend, and several frontends, with back-
and frontends having gone through some changes from feisty to intrepid,
and always worked.

So, what is different with jaunty? Do I need to change settings on the
jaunty frontend? or on the intrepid backend? and if on the latter, do I
need to change other intrepid frontends too?

Why is the jaunty frontend insisting on whatever setting - shouldn't it
be content with what every other client is doing and do the same?
