This issue is still present in Jaunty.

Changing nvidia-settings scaling method to "aspect ratio scaled"
improves, but does not resolve the issue (the bottom of the screen is
clipped).

Changing the nvidia-settings scaling method to "centered" yields only a
black screen.

Changing the nvidia-settings scaling method to "scaled" has the same (or
similar) effect as aspect ratio scaled.
