The problem no longer occurs in Jaunty, and I never got around to
backporting the svn commit. GNOME in Jaunty just hit the official 2.26
release, maybe there is a maybe there is a compile flag used on
something f-b-a links against that enforces things more strictly during
the GNOME dev cycle (ie 2.25.x) and then not used once the official
release hits? I don't know... But it does seem strange that during both
the Intrepid and Jaunty cycles this bug popped up and then
disappeared...
