sorry i forgot to ask this earlier, could you also please attach your
/var/log/Xorg.0.log and your current /etc/X11/xorg.conf files...

Also, if you haven't done this already, try with an empty xorg.conf
file. Attach Xorg.0.log from that attempt, too.
