I just checked the functionality and it works on my box ( latest source
)

Make sure that the audio has a sample rate of 48kHz and that the
MediaBackend detects the proper values or the audio file.

Also you can manually disable transcoding if you got to the audio file
and uncheck [Context Menu -> Properties ->Enable Transcoding]
