Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: smplayer

intermittently files will not begin playback. i don't know enough to
know what is useful information to give you. I appear to be having minor
sound problems, so i wonder if it's related to alsa?

happy to provide anything you want to know on request.

I just noticed mplayer crashes after pressing the space bar a few times.
Here is the last chunk of the log:

Invalid command for bound key f : invalid_command
Invalid command for bound key f : invalid_command
Invalid command for bound key f : invalid_command

  =====  PAUSE  =====
ID_PAUSED
[AO_ALSA] pcm prepare error: Input/output error

MPlayer interrupted by signal 6 in module: play_audio
ID_SIGNAL=6
- MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen.
  It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
  gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
  DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and
  won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug.
