Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.28-2-rt

Hello,
What Happened:
I installed the new realtime 2.6.28-2-rt kernel and there was a failure during the dkms part of the nvidia install. This is with nvidia-glx (180.35). This was apparent both during the install using synaptic (using the terminal to see the details during install) and at boot of the kernel. After boot I could not use X and got stuck in failsafe mode until using Ctl-Alt-F1 to use text mode.

Note that the nvidia driver works fine using the current generic kernel
(2.6.28-9). I have the 6600GT card, which has always worked with
packaged drivers from ubuntu (except for the fan speed - but that is
another issue).

What I expected:
I expected the nvidia graphics and X to work when using the kernel driver.
