Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vmware-package

I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 64 Bit and Gnome on a Thinkpad X61 in a dual
monitor setup and installed VMWare Player 2.5.1 through the bundled
installer.

When firing up a WinXP 32Bit VM, the VMWare Player window occasionally
disappears from screen and cannot made visible again. It is not shown in
the taskbar anymore, not listed in Gnome's Window List and not shown on
any of my 4 workspaces.

This could happen during boot up of the VM, but also when allready
logged in into WinXP.

Despite of that, in a terminal, "top" shows an active vmware-vmx process
utilizing CPU power...

I attached the corresponding vmware-logfile...

It seems that this bug is related to the autoDrawer.c-Error in VMWare
Workstation: http://communities.vmware.com/thread/186039

I uninstalled vmware-package and libview2, facing no player crash so
far...

** Affects: vmware-package (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
