finally, and don't know if it has something to do with it, but i just
reported the Bug #339433 ... so some errors present in the log are
probably associated to that Bug....

when intel is selected in xorg.conf ... ubuntu selects (II) [drm] loaded
kernel module for "i915" driver. But in my case the chipset is Mobile
Intel® GM45 Express Chipset ... don't know if it is a problem.
