sorry for my stupid questions again: now, there's a 0.17 of the kernel
module using the new format, which would need the new btrfs-tools? OTOH
the new btrfs-tools would also work with 0.17 and/or 0.18?

The problem I see, is that, if we'd now go and upgrade both btrfs-source
and the tools to 0.17, would we summon more troubles once 0.18 is
released? (and as well, would we get in trouble if 0.18 is out, but we'd
stay at 0.17)

If not, I don't see any reason to block on this upgrade request.
