[Bug 338284] [NEW] krename hangs on .MPG files

krename 3.0.14-1 in Ubuntu Studio Hardy 8.04.2

Downloaded photos and movies from camera, photos in
/usr/local/Sony_raw/photos, movies in /usr/local/Sony_raw/movies, all
files have identical ownership and permissions (664) with user/group
that created directories.  Photos renamed perfectly.  When I attempt to
select the movie filenames (clicking on the "add some files" prompt
using the "Advanced" interface) I click on the first file and krename is
hung.  No error message.  Cannot select, cannot navigate, cannot close -
krename must be killed manually.  Ksysguard shows krename status as
"Sleeping", not "Zombie", however leaving the app for over 30 mins made
no difference, app still hung...  No excessive or accumulating memory
usage.  Running on AMD X2 5600+ w/4Gb

I use krename a good deal and this is the first problem I have
encountered is several years.  Have tried with "Preview" function both
on and off, thinking that perhaps it was unable to generate a preview of
a large .MPG file.  Have changed which file I select first, in case of a
problem with the #1 file in the list, no joy.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.  Thx.
