*** This bug is a security vulnerability ***
Public security bug reported:
when booting to grub and enter on far right of keyboard is hit, causes
int 10 to write directly to HOST OS [ubuntu] video memory.
this has happened TWICE on me. I hit the key by accident, trying to test
out my new kernel keyboard handler code, and then X11 gets messed up.
you get logged out every time. the first time i was able to see, not the
second.
linux refuses to reboot or switch to console mode from x11 login screen
at this point.
[assuming because the keyboard handler code is overwridden, as well as
video]
this is a SERIOUS BUG. it affects both QEMU and BOCHS, as they use the
same video bios code base.
NO, I'm programming weird shit in assembler. I'm building Project FPOS,
which uses proper IRQ and interrupt table settings, as any NORMAL OS
would. this only affects the said system if key is pressed during the
grub loading process during normal PC boot.
** Affects: qemu (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
