** Description changed:

I noticed that Ubuntu computers may sometimes start up or resume from
suspend and show many lines over the screen. Everything is fine except
there are a bunch of black flickering lines over the screen that look
  like this:

                              _ _
                              _ _
                              _ _
                              _ _
                              _ _
                              _ _
                              _ _

This only happens sometimes, and when it does, a Ctrl-Alt-backspace or suspend and resume usually fixes it.
This has happened on a hardy computer and also on an intrepid computer.
I couldn't get a screenshot of this happening, when I screenshot it it looks normal, without these lines.
