The shortcuts are defined through the Keyboard Shortcuts menu:

System->Preferences->Keyboard Shortcuts

In gnome-keybinding-properites under Desktop I have 
Action                     Shortcut
'Run a terminal'       Ctrl+Alt+Space

Let me know if you need anything else, I have upgraded to the latest
packages as of March 1 and have rebooted my computer since upgrading.
