[Bug 335512] Re: [i945] intel video card automatically detected on live cd, but not on the installed system

After an update last night "X" failed to start and after trying a few things to solve 
the problem, I decided to re-install Ubuntu.
This time the resolution is correct on the first boot and everything works well.
xorg.conf does not contain the "driver" line on this install.
mention: I used the same alpha-5 CD as the last install.
