Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: python-scipy
Package conflicts with python 2.6.
According to [1] scipy 0.7 is mostly compatible with python 2.6:
"A significant amount of work has gone into making SciPy compatible
with Python 2.6; however, there are still some issues in this regard.
The main issue with 2.6 support is NumPy. On UNIX (including Mac OS
X), NumPy 1.2.1 mostly works, with a few caveats."
Numpy is build for python 2.6 in ubuntu.
There is a ppa for scipy 0.7 [2] for intrepid but that package does not
build on jaunty. Raw scipy 0.7 sources build fine on jaunty with py2.6
if attached site.cfg is used.
