You're work looks good, but I wonder about the Debian changes. While
they disable downloading plugins, they don't seem to disable the
automatic update checking. The first thing I saw on startup was a pop up
telling me that a plugin was out-of-date.

I'm going to go ahead and upload since the security issue is real, but
we might want to dig into this a bit more.
