[Bug 405765] [NEW] Lock screen appearance should be improved

Binary package hint: fast-user-switch-applet

The "Lock screen" screen should receive a face lift to improve its
appearance. The blueprint "Karmic Login Experience" seems related but,
for some reason, and please correct me if I'm wrong, the "Lock screen"
is not a part of this.

Right now its appearance doesn't seem tightly integrated with the look
and feel of the rest of the distro.

Bug #296396 (Integrate Lock screen and Login screen functionality) can
be a nice step in the right direction but it should be accompanied by
some effort in the design and usability department.

I expected a highly integrated, functional and beautiful "Lock screen"
screen but now I found an ugly grey rectangle with limited and not
optimal functionality.
