Thanks. It appears that the intel video driver is causing Xorg to crash
when restarting. I am moving this report on to the intel driver package,
and the Ubuntu X people will probably want a full backtrace of the
crash: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Backtracing

It should be noted that the initial backtrace in Xorg.0.log.old looks
like that from bug 404439, but I am not sure how the Ubuntu X team
handles duplicates.
