[Bug 396762] [NEW] 'import ldtp' freezes interpreter

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ldtp

I'm not sure how to debug this further. I'm in Karmic, and when I do
the following, the python interpreter stops responding to any key
presses (i.e. I press a key, and I don't even see the echo of it). The
only thing that works to regain the console is Ctrl+Z and 'kill -9' on
the python process.

$ python
>>> import ldtp
>>>

So, the import appears to complete. That is, the >>> shows up again. I
just can't do anything further.

How can I give more useful info?
