Some news,
Kernel Team said that problem to be a platform driver issue or bios issue.
In fact I just red in the web that sony is talking to the backlight through the nvidia chip, what seems to be an unsual way...
That problem concerning a lot of sony vaio using, but also msi,
samsung... and is pretty old !
The work around was to modify the acpi script to use smartdimmer, or
nvclock on fnkey press... But acpi scripts are depreciated, I tried in
the passed to have it corrected in hal, that is also depreciated now
My understanding is that it has to be changed now in devicekit-power or
udev-extras (I don't know what is making what)
It is unlikely that something will happen on nvidia side in near futur, I've a post there and wainting answer for a while...
In the kernel it won't be fixed either...
** Changed in: udev-extras (Ubuntu)
Status: Invalid => New
